How to play
Each day there is one table and a few objects to put on it. Every note you get is true. Together they leave exactly one place for each object, and a program has checked that every table can be solved by logic alone, with no guessing. So when you feel stuck, the answer is already in front of you.
Playing
- Tap an object, then tap a cell. Tap a cell again to move the object.
- Read the notes. A note turns green when the table agrees with it and red when the table breaks it.
- A green note is only true for now, not proven. The table is solved when every object is placed and every note is green.
- Use ✕ Not here to mark cells where an object cannot be. The marks are yours and never count against you.
There is no limit on moves and no clock on the screen. Your time appears only at the end. Undo and Start over are always there, and even Start over can be undone.
Stuck?
That is part of the fun. Hint shows the next step that follows from what you already know, and why, so each one teaches you a trick for the next table. It can also do that step for you. Your result says how many hints you used, and you are asked first, so a stray tap costs nothing. Next time, try it with one fewer.
The week
Monday is gentle. Each day asks a little more, and Sunday is the real test. How far can you get without a hint? A new table comes at midnight on your own calendar, and earlier days of the week stay open.
| Day | Rank | Table | Objects |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon | Trainee | 5 × 5 | 7 |
| Tue, Wed | Detective | 5 × 5 | 7 |
| Thu, Fri | Inspector | 6 × 6 | 8 |
| Sat | Chief Inspector | 6 × 6 | 9 |
| Sun | Master Detective | 6 × 6 | 9 |
Sharing
When you solve a table you get a short result: green and red squares for how your moves went, your time and your hints. It gives nothing away, so you can send it to anyone and see if they can beat it. Press How did others do? to see where you stand among today's players.
